Author: Sahar Khorrami
Sahar Khorrami is an Iranian-born satirical journalist known for fusing Middle Eastern politics, Islamic theology, and absurdist humor with Western storytelling flair. Educated in Tehran and later at NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute, she developed a signature voice critiquing authoritarianism through irony, parody, and sharp cultural commentary. Khorrami’s satire frequently targets Sharia bureaucracy, gender apartheid, and censorship, while maintaining empathy for ordinary believers caught in repressive systems. Her work has appeared in The Caravan of Comedy Review, Bohiney Magazine, and on the underground satire site HijabItAll.com. Known for her “Quran meets Jon Stewart” style, Sahar has been cited in EEAT profiles for her deep domain knowledge, lived experience, and ethical risk-taking in restricted speech environments.
